Approval Disclosure

Enrollment to the Associate of Science Degree in Nursing (ADN) Program is currently in pending status with the RN Board and BPPE Approvals. The RN Board has approved the feasibility study for the ADN Program in December, 2015. If you have any further questions about the approval process, please direct them to your Admissions Advisor or the ADN Program Director.

Program Description

The Associate of Science in Nursing Program is a five semester program for non-nursing applicants. For applicants with an LVN license and completed GE courses, the program can be completed within 2 semesters. Students will study a wide variety of curricular content required for licensure by the California Board of Registered Nursing. Students will study fundamentals of nursing and required technical skills, health assessment, pharmacology, critical children and families and psychiatric/mental health nursing. An advanced medical surgical / leadership course is offered in the final semester of the program to reinforce previous learning. As well, students will take an NCLEX preparation and remediation course to prepare for RN licensure.

AS Nursing program is an Associate of Science degree program.

Clinical Training

We, at Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts, consider clinical experience to be one of the most important parts of the medical education. Students are required to be rotated throughout our affiliated medical facilities, while attending our AS in Nursing Program.

Admission Requirements

75 weeks/5 semesters/80 semester credit hours - including prerequisites taken prior to enrolling

30 weeks/2 semesters/28 semester credit hours (excluding 52 semester credit hours of GE and nursing courses that are required prior to enrollment) - for applications holding LVN licensure

Session Schedule

5 days varying Monday through Saturday for 8 hours daily
