The Nursing Assistant program will present the basics of bedside patient care under the guidelines of federal and state requirements. Participants who successfully complete the course will meet criteria to sit for the certification exam.
Nursing Assistants in other states as well as in California may also be called: Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA), Nurse Aides, Geriatric Aides, Hospital Attendants, Nurse Assistants, and Patient Care Technicians.
We, at Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts, consider clinical experience one of the most important parts of the medical education. Students will be provided with clinical training at one of the affiliated clinical sites, while attending our nursing assistant school.

Nursing Assistant Program Length and Schedule
7 weeks (150 clock hours)
Classes are held 3 days per week at evening time (classes may be scheduled any day of the week, Monday through Sunday). Students will attend an average of twenty-one and a half (21.5) hours per week of instruction including didactic, labs and clinical. Clinical activities are usually held during the weekends: Saturday - Sunday any time from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
