Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts offers instruction from experienced faculty members who provide the requisite knowledge and skills training to prepare graduates for entry-level positions in their chosen professional field while providing the educational foundation needed to advance their careers. Our educational philosophy focuses on unique practical learning experiences, such as clinical lab sessions facilitated in fully operational healthcare facility partnerships. Dental Assistant (DA) Program Description

Dental Assistant graduates work in dental offices or other dental facilities and are indispensable parts of the team. Dental Assistants ensure patients are comfortable, prepare patients for treatment, sterilize instruments, process x-rays, etc.

There are many benefits to becoming a dental assistant, from various tasks to having a flexible work schedule. Students learn the principles and practices of front and back-office dental assisting through theoretical and hands-on training.

Medical Assistant (MA) Program Description

Medical Assistant graduates join one of the most in-demand careers in the growing healthcare field. Medical Assistants are a vital part of the healthcare team, and they complete administrative and clinical tasks in physicians’ offices, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities.

Our Medical Assistant program includes academic lectures, laboratory training, and a clinical component correlating with theoretical knowledge. Students will practice and become adept at various clinical skills, including patient education, phlebotomy, and first aid.

Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts Physical Therapist Assistant graduates join an in-demand career in the growing healthcare field. Physical Therapist Assistants provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist within the scope of practice for PTAs.

They provide patients with instructions for therapeutic exercise and utilize therapeutic modalities that incorporate massage, stretching, selected manual therapy interventions, and the use of electrotherapies.

A.O.S. in Respiratory Care Program

A.O.S. in Respiratory Care Program Description

This program prepares graduates to pursue entry-level employment or jobs in related fields. The main terminal educational outcome of this program is to prepare graduates with demonstrated competence in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains of respiratory care practice as performed by registered respiratory therapists (RRTs).
