I am thrilled to take a moment to share some exciting news regarding my current role at Dameron Hospital. The past few months have been nothing short of great as I’ve embarked on this new chapter, and I couldn’t have asked for a better start. I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of you for your unwavering support and guidance leading up to my start date. Your encouragement and wisdom have truly paved the way for my success.
Please accept my sincerest apologies for not reaching out sooner. I deemed it fitting to wait until my 90-day probationary period had concluded. I am pleased to report that this phase has ended, and I stand here today, thoroughly immersed in my responsibilities and thoroughly enjoying each facet of my role as a sonographer.
Reflecting on my journey, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the support and encouragement that have accompanied me throughout. Your continuous belief in my potential and educational support during my time in the program and after have made an indelible impact on my growth. It’s moments like these that affirm my decision to embrace this profession and celebrate the educational foundation I received at Gurnick.
In particular, I wish to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Jorge for his unending guidance and unwavering support. His mentorship has been instrumental in shaping my journey thus far. Equally deserving of acknowledgment are the remarkable instructors-Patsy, Bushra, & Yanna who have selflessly imparted their knowledge, each contributing to my development.
This achievement is as much yours as it is mine, and I look forward to sharing further triumphs and milestones with all of you.
With warmest regards and genuine appreciation,
Jaismeen Gill

The atmosphere at Gurnick Academy consists of a perfect balance between individual academic performance and collaborative activity in order to create an environment that allows students to truly thrive and become successful not only in their career as a sonographer, but also within the workplace that they will belong to after graduating. Working alongside my peers and the teaching staff, I have been pushed to excel in the program academically. I have also been given the opportunity to sharpen my communication skills and my ability to work with others as a student ambassador. Gurnick Academy provides a unique program that is truly considerate of their student’s success during their academic career on campus as well as their career beyond graduation and it has been a privilege to attend.
Trisha Tolbert
Ultrasound Program
My name is Trisha and I am currently in the Ultrasound program at the Gurnick Sacramento campus. My favorite part of this program has been our clinical rotations. The opportunity to be in the field, working with real patients has really amplified my learning experience. Our director and instructors spend so much time with us, especially in the lab, making sure we are as prepared as possible to enter this career. I am so appreciative of the resources that are provided to us, the lab equipment we have access to, and the extensive preparation we receive. I am proud to see how far our class has come since we started this program together, and am excited to continue training on our journey to becoming sonographers.
Kristina Souza
Ultrasound Program
Hello, my name is Kristina Souza and I am the Program Director for the Ultrasound Program at the Fresno campus. I have been a sonographer for over 12 years. My career began at Saint Agnes Medical Center where I gained valued experience in the General Ultrasound department. In 2013, I desired to gain more experience in the area of Perinatal Sonography and I transferred to the Maternal Fetal Center at Valley Children’s Hospital. I am board registered in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular, and Fetal Echo Sonography.
I am native to the Central Valley and have lived here my whole life. My heart’s desire is to serve the people of this community not only in the world of sonography, but also in my role as an educator. I am so thrilled to be an active participant in the lives of future sonographers.
Here at Gurnick our goal is to provide the highest quality of education to our students. We strive to prepare our students to be competent, confident, and compassionate sonographers who will serve the people of our community well.

A.S. in Radiologic Technology Program
What were you doing prior to Gurnick?
Prior to Gurnick, I was pursuing my biology degree at UC Santa Cruz with the intention of applying to Pharmacy school. As I was finishing up my bachelor’s degree, I decided that graduate school was not for me. At that point I started looking at other careers and fell upon radiologic technology. When I decided to pursue this new field, I worked as a patient service representative at Valley Radiology in San Jose, as I waited to apply to schools.
What made you decide to enroll?
At first, I didn’t consider Gurnick as an option due to its distance from where I live. After talking to some Gurnick alumni from my place of employment at the time, they spoke very highly of the school and pushed me to apply. I am glad I listened to them and applied, as Gurnick has been assisting me to reach my goals.
What has your overall experience been like?
Overall, my experience at Gurnick has been very positive. The instructors have been helpful in preparing us to be successful radiologic technologists as soon as we graduate and pass the boards. I also like that the faculty at Gurnick work with students to cater the individual. For me personally, I have spoken out about my interests of learning other modalities, and the school has been very supportive of my ambitions and helped me get a jump start into cross training as a student to reach my goals of becoming g multi-modality technologist.
What do you hope to change in your future as a result of enrolling and graduating?
As a result of graduating from the radiologic technology program, I want to continue learning, whether it is working with fellow technologists, radiologists, or even with students. I believe that there is always more to learn, and the beauty of this field, is that it is dynamic and with changes in technology, we have to adapt with it.

A.S. in Radiologic Technology Program
Before entering the program, I was a housekeeper at the hospital. Working in the medical field and helping patients is something I have always wanted to do. I wanted to help more than just sanitize the room for the patient. Therefore, I decided to enroll in the radiologic technologist program.
After looking at many different schools, I’m glad that I picked Gurnick to be the institution where I will pursue my healthcare career. Overall, I’m very please with the experience at Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts, Concord. The instructors are very knowledgeable, willing to help throughout the course and guide me throughout my educational and clinical experience. Gurnick Academy also has a wide range of clinical sites, from an outpatient clinic to a level one trauma hospital. The different experience I have gained through my clinical rotations has prepared me to work in any environment.
Thank you, Ms. Rosebrock, and the wonderful radiologic technologist program team for making my dream come true! As an upcoming graduate, I look forward to beginning my career as a Radiologic Technologist.

RN to BSN (BSN AP-4)
I want to share with you my time at Gurnick through the BSN program. Our professors were always there for us. They made complicated material easier to understand. The deep concern for the students’ success allowed us to flourish throughout our BSN journey. Gurnick teachers rock! I would like thank Mrs. Roach, Ms. Jan, Mrs. Ortiz, and Mrs. Salvano for instilling the knowledge to make us better nurses. Always kind and helpful Ms. Le as well as student and career services. Couldn’t have done it without the help and guidance of this beautiful team.
