Today's Environment 2010
Here we are in 2010 and we live in what seems to be some uncertainty. Well I do not believe that at all, especially if you are attending Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts. If you are one of the fortunate Gurnick Academy students you probably already know how fortunate you are. For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, let me explain. When researching the nursing climate and the future of nursing you will find that the health care field is ever expanding, particularly due to the ever growing elderly population. With life expectance increasing and as the "baby boomers enter into their senior years the boost for health care rises. Many of these elderly people at one time or another will need some sort of medical care in their senior years, whether it's in rehabilitation for hip surgery, chemotherapy, diabetes education, and/or nursing home care to mention a few. Our country is in need of well trained License Vocational Nurses (LVN) otherwise known as License Practical Nurse (LPN). There is no better time in choosing a LVN / LPN career.
Your personal decision to place yourself into the nursing field shows you are following the times. You have made a wise choice in entering the health care field. It is on the verge of exploding with opportunities.
LPN / LVN schools are a great way to step into to this expanding health care field and Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts can help you reach your goal. Gurnick Academy offers several different types of health care programs: Vocational Nurse Program, Psychiatric Technician Program, Ultrasound Technology Program, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technology Program and the Radiologic Technology Program or X Ray Program. All Gurnick Academy programs include didactic, laboratory, and clinical rotations.
Your clinical experience while at Gurnick Academy will prepare you with real life experiences. These experiences will help you gain the clinical confidence needed when you pass your licensing exams and are ready to participate in a full time rewarding career in the health care field. Once you enter the nursing field you will find an added reward: the sense of fulfillment within your community because you have the ability to give back to your community by helping and caring for the people around you.
You may also use your LVN / LPN license as a stepping stone towards your registered nurse (RN) license without missing a step on your health care career. You will need to continue on with more nursing studies such as Anatomy, Physiology, Chemistry and the like but you will already have the background and state of mind of what it takes to succeed in the health care arena. Embrace your time at Gurnick; know you are building a wonderful and secure future in the health care field.
