Our Medical Assistant Programs goal is to educate and graduate students ready to enter the medical assisting workforce. The students will learn the basics of assisting and working in the front and back of a medical office as well as the fundamentals of human anatomy and physiology.

Program Length

Our Medical Assistant Program is 8-months and consists of 7 courses contained in 3 modules.

There are four starts per year: January, March, July, & September.

A student’s typical day involves didactic and laboratory work Classes are from 8 am - 6 pm, Monday through Friday. 

Some of our campuses offer evening classes.

We have an eLibrary, physical library and classrooms equipped with audio-visual teaching aids, textbooks, and simulators.

  • Learn theory and practice lab work under the guidance of an experienced instructor.


Medical Assistants Gurnick Academy Team


Clinical Externship:

  • Practice your knowledge daily by helping staff with daily office duties.


  • We prepare students to take the national exam for Clinical Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA).

Career Services:

  • Gurnick has a Career Services Department that provides students and graduates with up-to-date career-placement workshops, interview tips that are current and practical, and newsletters and job opportunities.
