Gurnick Academy Offers Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program – RN to BSN pathway

Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts offers a 3-semester distance education program for RNs to complete their Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in one year. It's the first Gurnick's Bachelor Degree program as well as the first distance education program. It will be offered at Concord Campus via online delivery.

"We are extremely excited and proud to offer our very first Baccalaureate degree program and our very first total distance learning program at Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Initiative on the Future of Nursing, at the Institute of Medicine, has identified increasing the educational levels of nurses as a critically important component of professional development and devoted two of its eight recommendations to the issue. The first recommendation was that 80% of nurses should have baccalaureate degrees by 2020. It called on schools of nursing to partner with employers, public and private sectors, and communities to find ways to increase the number of nurses entering baccalaureate programs. The Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts RN to BSN program will assist in meeting that need", said Larisa Revzina, Chief Academic Officer of Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts.

Applications are now being accepted for the first class beginning January 5, 2015. The program is divided into three semesters. Each semester is 15 weeks in length. The two practicum courses, Community Health Nursing Practicum and Leadership/Management in Nursing Practicum, require the student to be in a clinical setting.

Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts is a private academy offering quality allied-health and nursing programs operating 4 campuses in Northern California with locations in San Mateo, Modesto, Fresno and Concord.
