Date: March 24, 2017
After finishing a diagnostic medical sonography education program, those who want to become certified sonographers will have to pass an exam that will give them the possibility of gaining an ARDMS license.
ARDMS licenses are offered by a nonprofit organization called the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. The exam candidates for an ARDMS license must pass very hard, and the medical fraternity considers those who manage to pass this exam as very committed to the sonographer career.
The US states have laws regarding licensing, especially when it comes to sonographers or radiologists. Still, all of them are recognizing the ARDMS license and let the owners practice in their hospitals. The ARDMS license is granted by the International Organization of Standards and the National Commission for Certifying Agencies.
Those who own such a license are considered highly qualified for their job and usually get the best hospitals’ best employments. Some owners of ARDMS licenses manage even to open their own private practices.
The American Society of Echocardiography also accepts this type of license, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and the Canadian Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Owning such a license is a great deal as it can represent the beginning of a fulfilling career in the medical field.
Everyone accepts ARDMS licenses because the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography is an expert in sonography and is involved in creating future sonographers’ exams. An ARDMS license is hard to obtain, but if working hard and wanting to succeed, anything is possible.
