In February 2015, Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts’ Fresno Campus received approval from the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) for the Associate of Science degree in Ultrasound Technology. Previously, Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts offered only the Ultrasound Technology program at the main campus location.
“This opens the door for residents of the Fresno area to have the opportunity to pursue a career in diagnostic medical Sonography,” said Claudia Von Zamory, the Ultrasound Technology Program Director of Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts.
The start date for the program is July 7, 2015. Our Ultrasound Technology program prepares our students for entry-level employment after graduation as Diagnostic Medical Sonographers with general sonography (This includes abdominal and small parts, obstetrics and gynecology, and vascular sonography.)
Graduates will be qualified to work in hospitals, imaging centers, physicians’ offices, or clinics. One of the program goals is to prepare students to pass the ARDMS* and RVT certification exams upon graduation.
