I have a medical degree. Am I still required to take the entrance exam?

Regardless of degree or background, all applicants must pass the entrance exam before admission into the program.

Are there any prerequisite classes I need to take before I start the program?

You do not need to take any prerequisite courses.

When is the application deadline?

Clinical Training for the  X-ray Technician with Medical Assistant Skills Program

Do I have to find my own location to complete my clinical experience hours?

The program has affiliation agreements with many health care locations where you will complete your clinical experience hours.

Are the externship (clinical experience hours) paid positions?

All externships are unpaid.

Can I obtain Financial Aid?

Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Gurnick Academy participates in various federal and state student financial assistance programs.

 

Graduation Information of the X-ray Technician with Medical Assistant Skills Program

Once I graduate from the program, will I be getting a degree or diploma?

You will receive a diploma.

Do I have to pass any exams after I finish the program in order to work as an X-ray Technician?

Will the program prepare me to pass the exam?

X-ray Technician test preparation is strongly emphasized throughout our students’ entire curriculum, and many resources are shared with students to assist.

Do you offer job placement?

We may assist with job placements for all students who complete the program. However, we cannot guarantee employment.

Where do X-Ray Technicians work?

The most common places x-ray technicians work are doctors’ offices, clinics, and urgent care facilities. Less common are imaging centers.

Does graduation from an X-ray Technicians program guarantee enrollment in the future for the RT program?

RT has an advanced placement option for XT graduates, but you must meet the standards of admission for RT program enrollment. Please see RT Admissions Requirements.
