X-ray school may range from two to four years, resulting in a certificate, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree. Anatomy, ethics, medical terminology, pathology, patient care, physiology, patient positioning, imaging principles, radiation physics, radiation protection, and radiobiology will be covered in a good X-ray program. Bay Area residents can benefit greatly from completing X-ray school since these valuable skills are required for great jobs in various clinical settings.

Numerous rewards are awaiting those who finish X-ray school and get certified. As the population grows and ages, the demand for diagnostic imaging is likely to increase, and jobs may be waiting for those who complete an X-ray program. Bay Area hospitals and clinical facilities may have jobs waiting for those who complete additional training in more complex procedures, such as CT and MRI.

Students must be sure to find an X-ray school accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology. Lessons in both classroom and clinical settings should also be included in the X-ray program. Bay Area students must also take a certification exam after completing the X-ray program. However, Bay Area hospitals, doctor’s offices, clinics, outpatient facilities, and imaging centers have many jobs waiting for those who do.

X-ray school prepares individuals to produce x-ray films of body parts and administers non-radioactive materials into the bloodstream for diagnostic purposes. The X-ray technician is also responsible for prepping patients and their records and adjusting, maintaining, and operating equipment. X-ray school also provides a skill set that will be valuable in the medical profession for years to come.
