Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts is a leading Bay Area private healthcare college offering an extensive variety of nursing and allied healthcare programs such as: Vocational Nurse, Medical Imaging, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN pathway) as well as Dental Assistant and healthcare programs: Associate of Science in Physical Therapist Assistant, Ultrasound Technology, Vascular Ultrasound Technology, Cardiac Ultrasound Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, MRI, Radiologic Technology, and Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Imaging, Nursing and Radiation Therapy.
We are currently seeking a Simulation Lab Technician, Vocational Nursing Program, (Full-time, Day Shift, 10AM-7PM) for our Modesto Campus.
Basic Function
Under direct supervision, the Simulation Lab Technician position works with Program Heads (Program Coordinator, Supervisor, and/or Director) and the Clinical Coordinator to support the simulation learning experience for the Vocational Nursing Program. This role will interact directly with Faculty and Students based on the needs of the Program Head. The Simulation Technician role will ultimately require the knowledge of the program at their campus to best support the needs of the Program Heads, Clinical Coordinator, Faculty, and Students.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The job duties consist of the following and are not limited to:
- Coordinate the scheduling for all nursing students in nursing simulation learning experiences in cooperation with the simulation coordinators and program coordinators/directors
- Assisting lab instructors during competency exams
- Maintain inventory of all supplies, equipment, AV materials, and laboratory manuals
- Oversee and monitor maintenance of the Simulation and Skills Lab equipment and ensure the cleanliness and efficiency of the Simulation and Skills Lab
- Ensure planning, implementation, and evaluation phases of simulation are prepared and organized
- Assist the Clinical Coordinator in maintaining an organized calendar for simulation and skills lab
- Assist the Clinical Coordinator in the development and implementation of detailed, clinically based scenarios for computerized models
- Assist the Clinical Coordinator and Faculty in planning a variety of simulation teaching methodologies
- Ensure all orientations completed appropriately for the nursing skills and simulation laboratory
- Maintaining classroom operations and procedures to ensure program effectiveness and efficiency
- Maintaining records of student’s attendance and grading
- Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the Department
Requirements
- Minimum of High School Diploma
- Graduation from a VN Program or relevantly similar program
- Organizational knowledge of educational institutions
- Good Working knowledge of Google Suite: Docs, Sheets, Etc.
- One year experience in similar position is preferable
Hourly Range, Part-Time: $16.50-$20.00
