Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts, a well-known allied health school, focuses on diagnostic imaging technology and Medical Assisting in Sacramento. Associate in Science degrees will be offered in MRI Technology, Radiologic Technology, and Ultrasound Technology.

Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts is also partnering with Sutter Health to enhance the overall approach to Medical Assisting training, creating graduates that will be better prepared for the Sutter Health environment. All courses are enrolling now and will start in July. Financial aid is available for those that qualify.

The new campus will be technologically advanced from a healthcare diagnostics and educational delivery perspective. Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts’ partnership with Neurologica, a Samsung Subsidiary, will establish the technology foundation with the state-of-the-art X-ray Lab and Ultrasound Lab supported by Samsung diagnostic equipment.

Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts’ employment partners will have a direct pipeline to the students and graduates through the Gurnick Edge portal to search and promote jobs through interactive job boards and develop an active alum network. The curriculum (supported by Elsevier Education content) will be delivered digitally through Samsung tablets and notebooks in the classroom, online library, and labs.

The A.S. in Magnetic Resonance Imaging Program is designed to prepare students to perform clinical MRI examinations of the human body, considering image production, quality control, signal-to-noise ratio, and primary pulse sequences.

The A.S. in Radiologic Technology Program includes didactic and laboratory training and a clinical externship that correlates with theoretical knowledge.

The A.S. in Ultrasound Technology Program prepares students for entry-level employment after graduation as Diagnostic Medical Sonographers with general sonography (abdominal and small parts, obstetrics, gynecology, and vascular sonography). Graduates will be qualified to work in hospitals, imaging centers, physicians’ offices, or clinics.

The Medical Assistant Program prepares students for work in hospital settings, physicians, or other health practitioners’ offices and is an indispensable workforce. A Medical Assistant performs a variety of administrative and clinical tasks.
